They arrived at the Border Fortress in what Leandra claimed was good time. Darcy was heartily sick of sitting in a saddle, but she wouldn’t miss the camaraderie to ride in a wagon.

She had stayed in Saria's tent when they stopped for the night. She and Fallon had been very comfortable on their one night on the road.

"So, Darcy," Saria grinned wickedly at her and Fallon as they sat on their horses before the keep. "Will you allow Eve to host you, or will you stay with Fallon?"

Darcy grinned back at the Queen and then looked at Fallon. They hadn’t discussed it because Darcy just assumed he wanted her with him.

"Well, Fallon," Darcy batted her lashes at him. "Which will it be?"

"If you wish to stay in the keep, I will quite happily stay there with you." He winked at Saria. "If you wish to go to my apartment above the shop, then I am thrilled to have you. But then, I am always thrilled to have you, Darcy."

Leandra rolled her eyes and dismissed her warriors as Saria laughed and jumped from the saddle.

"Well, I shall expect you both for dinner tonight, then." Eve looked at them with a smile.

"Thank you, Lady Eve." Fallon bowed in the saddle. "Come, my love, I have a place for our horses near the shop."

"I will have your things sent round, Darcy," Leandra called out.

“Thank you, Lee.” Darcy smiled at her friend.

"Darcy," Saria looked up at her. "Your friends will be well housed while here at the Fortress. They shall have a suite to share in the keep." She waved at them and turned towards the keep.

Darcy smiled and bowed in her saddle.

"I will see it done, My Queen." Eve bowed and ran up the steps after her Monarch. "See you tonight, Darcy, Fallon."

Darcy and Fallon rode through the streets and where soon arriving at his shop. Fallon dismounted and came round to help Darcy down from her horse as a stable boy came and took the reins, leading the horses off.

"Oh, my God," Darcy groaned. "I am so stiff and sore. How long does it take to get used to riding astride, anyway?' She rubbed her posterior and shook out her legs as she followed him.

"A little while, sweet one." There was a smile in Fallon's voice as he offered her his arm. "I will give you a massage tonight to ease your pain."

Darcy perked up at his words and kissed his cheek.

"I won't forget you said that." She wrinkled her nose at him as they entered his shop. “And perhaps I shall massage you as well.”

"Fallon!" A handsome blond called out with a smile as they came in. "I have had your rooms cleaned when I heard you would arrive today." His lovely blue eyes lit on Darcy and his smile grew sexy. "I had also heard you had caught the eye of the lovely new Portal Traveler. I see it is true. Welcome, My Lady."

He took Darcy's outstretched hand and kissed it gently.
